TOP TEN BENEFITS OF USING GOOD QUALITY LED LIGHTS
LONG LIFE
LED bulbs and diodes have an outstanding operational life
time expectation of sometimes up to 100.000 hours.
LED lifespan scenarios:
- 50,000
hours powered 4 hours/day = 34 year lifespan
- 50,000
hours powered 8 hours/day = 17 year lifespan
- 50,000
hours powered 24 hours/day = 6 year lifespan
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Today’s most efficient way of illumination and lighting is LED Technology. with
an estimated energy efficiency of 80% - 90% when compared to traditional lighting
and conventional light bulbs. This means that about 80% of the electrical
energy is converted to light, while a ca. 20% is lost and converted into other
forms of energy such as heat.
If you use traditional lighting and have an electricity bill
of e.g SAR. 100, then SAR. 80 of that money has been used to heat the room, not
to light it! Using LED illumination with 80% efficiency, the electricity costs
would be around SAR. 20 and you’d have saved around SAR. 80.
ECOLOGICALLY FRIENDLY
LED lights are free of toxic chemicals. Most conventional
fluorescent lighting bulbs contain a multitude of materials like e.g mercury
that are dangerous for the environment.
DURABLE
LEDs are solid state lighting devices that utilize
semiconductor material instead of a filament or neon gas. LEDs are extremely
durable and built with sturdy components that are highly rugged and can
withstand even the roughest conditions. Since LEDs don't use fragile components such as glass and
filaments, LEDs are able to withstand shock, vibration and extreme temperature.
SAFETY:
Improved safety may be LED's most important benefit
LED lights generate virtually no heat therefore they are
cool to the touch and can be left on for hours without incident or consequence
if touched. LED's produce 3.4 btu's/hour, compared to 85 for
incandescent bulbs. In comparison, incandescent lighting expels 90% of
the energy it consumes via heat, making the bulbs hot to the touch. LEDs
reduce the potential for safety risks such as burns and fires.
LED lights are offered in a variety of base colors such as
Red, Green, Blue and Amber. Because traditional incandescent light bulbs
use filters to produce colors, they are extremely inefficient. LEDS can be
blended together to produce millions of color options.
ZERO UV EMISSION
LED illumination produces little infrared light and close to
no UV emissions.
DESIGN FLEXIBILITY
LEDs can be combined in any shape to produce highly efficient
illumination. Individual LEDs can be dimmed, resulting in a dynamic control of
light, color and distribution. Well-designed LED illumination systems can
achieve fantastic lighting effects, not only for the eye but also for the mood
and the mind:
WITHSTAND EXTREMELY HOT OR COLD TEMPERATURE
LED are ideal for operation under cold and low outdoor
temperature settings. For fluorescent lamps, low temperatures may affect
operation and present a challenge, but LED illumination operates well also in
cold settings, such as for outdoor winter settings, freezer rooms etc.
INSTANT LIGHTING FREQUENT SWITCHING
LED lights brighten up immediately and when powered on, which
has great advantages for infrastructure projects such as e.g traffic and signal
lights. LED lights can switched off and on frequently and without affecting the
LED’s lifetime or light emission
